As I am working on the lists of remote job leads most days of the week, I come across a ton of companies I’ve never heard of. This requires a little research to be sure that they are not scam companies (and if you source leads from a site like FlexJobs or LinkedIn, in most cases they check out).
But it goes without saying, I always feel better when I find openings from companies I’m already familiar with. This happens a LOT more now than it did back in 2010 when I started this website. Remote work is no longer associated in people’s minds with the word “scam.”
And since the pandemic, many companies embraced remote work for their employees and haven’t looked back, even though prior to the pandemic, they would never have considered it.
So today, I went through the list of job leads for the last few months and found the companies that are more or less household names with remote jobs open right now.
Please note this post is time sensitive, so if you find that any company in the list does not have an opening when you check, you can always keep tabs on their hiring pages to see if the job opens again or there are any other remote positions within the company.

Companies You’ve Heard Of With Remote Openings Right Now
GE Appliances – Inbound Customer Service Agent. Full-time. Remote (available in UT, SD, TX, OK, TN, MS, KY, OH, SC). Handle escalated customer issues, advocate for satisfactory resolutions, and ensure positive experiences for GE Appliance owners. Responsibilities include resolving appliance concerns, communicating via phone/email, documenting cases, and collaborating with internal teams. Requires high school diploma or GED, 1+ year call center experience, and 2+ years customer service. Must have strong communication, multitasking, and computer skills. Responsibilities include assisting customers by phone with product questions, orders, and problem resolution, researching solutions, documenting interactions, and delivering empathetic, high-quality service. Requirements: minimum 2 years of customer service experience, strong verbal and written communication, multitasking skills, adaptability, high school diploma or equivalent, and ability to pass a background check. Must have a distraction-free home workspace and wired high-speed internet (30 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload). Pay: $16/hour with opportunities for growth. FlexJobs – FlexJobs is one of my favorite sites to use for finding remote jobs and learning about new companies that hire remotely. Most of what I see there when I check the listings pays well above minimum wage and are known companies.
The great thing about FlexJobs is that they guarantee ALL listings are scam-free. They list hundreds of jobs — all of which are either remote or flexible in nature — five days per week. There are also no ads on the site.
Because there are no ads, they do charge a membership fee since that is the only way they can see a return on their job-searching efforts. But it’s cheap — you can get access to their listings for just $2.95 for a few weeks to be sure you like it!
